A Thousand Points of Light
“Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore.”
― André Gide
Welcome aboard the 42nd Long Range Colonization Fleet, led by the New Macross class colonization vessel, Macross Pioneer and home to a million-strong population of colonists drawn from Human, Zentradi and Zolan stock. Currently bound for the Outer Arm spiral of the Milky Way Galaxy, the trust falls to brave members of the U.N. Spacy to protect their home across the long trek through the dark.
A Thousand Points of Light is a Macross themed RPG based on the long-running anime franchise created by Shōji Kawamori in 1982 using the MECHA RPG system published by Heroic Journey Publishing.
In A Thousand Points of Light, players are U.N. Spacy variable fighter pilots operating from the Pioneer fleet and serving as the Colony ship’s first line of defence. It’s also a Macross game, so expect Singers, Zentradi, Variable Fighters, Missiles and possibly the occasional Reaction Weapon – possibly all at the same time.
If you’re here, it’s probably because you’re either you heard someone was interested in running a Play-By-Post RPG (and you have no idea what you’re in for) or you’re waiting to see what a campaign where the GM has possibly lost his marbles looks like. If you’re interested, feel free to check out the campaign wiki or drop the GM a message or two. I don’t bite. (For the most part.)
I’ve recently come off a two year hiatus from GM-ing, but I’ve run and played in a variety of play-by-post systems and I’m relatively reliable as a GM (when I’m not having a nervous breakdown). This is however, a first time running Chris Perrin’s MECHA in a PBP format, so expect hiccups. Looking for up to a max of six players (or so) though I’m personally comfortable with smaller groups. My GM style is pretty (hyper)active, so I’m gonna need people who can commit to fairly regular posting – I’m hoping for at least once every 48 hours.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. If response is overly quiet, I’ll open this to public recruitment starting Sunday, October 4th.
Feel free to check out the Main Page of the Wiki.
